Travelers typically heading to Bangkok don’t think of it as a kid-friendly city, but with over 8 million people living here, you can only imagine how many incredible activities there are! From interactive art to aquariums, street performers, rollercoasters, flight simulators, parks, and so much more.

While we suggest to still take your family to the temples and palaces around the city, here are some of our favorite activities around the city that you can add into the mix to leave the kids energized and excited.

Art In Paradise

In recent years, every major city around the world has created its own interactive art attraction which is great for kids of all ages, although the adults seem to have just as much fun too! Art in Paradise offers interactive art scenes pained on the floor and walls that if taken at the right angle seems 3D.

There are scary and exciting scenes including magic carpet rides, surfboarding, stairways, and so much more that we wouldn’t want to spoil it before you get there. Get there early before all the crowds show up though or you’ll have to wait for others before you can take photos.

Open: Daily from 10am until 10pm

The Dusit Zoo was the first one in Thailand and extremely well maintained with signs next to each exhibit explaining fun facts about the animal. There are even birds and iguanas walking freely around the zoo – careful where you step!

The zoo also overlooks the Ananta Samakhom Throne Hall and the statue of King Chulalongkorn, both of which are impressive architecturally to see and within walking distance from the Zoo.

Khao San Road

No trip to Bangkok would be complete without taking a stroll down Khao San Road in Bangkok. This road is filled with restaurants on both sides for 1 kilometer, but it’s impassable to vehicles as it’s filled along the road with street vendors selling anything imaginable.

You’ll find any sort of food you can imagine including fresh fruits, local rice cakes, drinks, and even for the adventurous – deep-fried scorpions. You can also find clothing, souvenirs, and local curry spices to take home with you.  There are also street performers doing anything from dancing, acrobats, painting, and more.

This is a great place to hang out with the family during the day-time hours, however, it is not suggested to bring kids during the late night hours as the area turns into a party place.

Location: Khao San Rd and Soi Rambuttri

If you have a few extra days, you can also check out Dinosaur Planet, Flight Simulator, and Lazgam Laser Tag. Bringing your kids with you to Bangkok will leave the whole family with exciting memories that you’ll keep forever.
