3 Of The Best Budget Nightlife Spots In Hua Hin

budgetnightlifehuahinCover-900x606

Hua Hin became Thailand's first beach resort when the royal family created a trend by building their summer palaces by the sea. In the mid-1920s, the quiet fishing village became a resort town for nobility with its golf course and seaside hotel. Now, because of its proximity to Bangkok and its unique mix of city and sea vibes, it has become a popular vacation spot for both locals and tourists alike. Although Hua Hin is known for family activities, beach resorts, golf courses, amusement parks, and markets, it has got a good variety of nightlife spots, ranging from historical hotel lounges to sports pubs and clubs.

Hua Hin has a huge range of impressive skybars and clubs that can be a bit of a stretch on the budget as they are usually located in high-end hotels. There are, however, cool hangouts that are perfect for the budget traveler. Filled with both locals and expats, you will have a blast without blasting your pocket money.

Cool Breeze Cafe Bar

Located in an old, fisherman house in the historic town of Hua Hin, Cool Breeze Café bar got its inspiration from the Mediterranean where families often eat al fresco by the seaside. With its tasty selection of authentic Spanish tapas and amazing happy hour deals, Cool Breeze Café brings you good value fun with a bit of a Spanish touch.

From 11AM until 7PM, you will find these good deals on the table: Get a glass of Sangria or their house white or red for just 99 Baht or three plates of tapas for the price of 2. The lamb kebab, Spanish meatballs, garlic mushrooms, and patatas bravas are highly recommended. Spoil yourself with a Spanish feast without breaking your budget at this beautifully decorated café bar. With an extensive menu with vegan and vegetarian options, this is a must-visit if you are looking into taking a break from Thai cuisine. With its rather antique vibe, it is also a great place to take someone special for a romantic night out.

Address: 62 Naresdamri Road, Hua Hin, Thailand

East Rooftop Bar and Lounge

Open from 5PM to 1AM, East Rooftop Bar and Lounge is quite popular among locals and expats with its daily double deals from 5PM to 8PM where you can get two drinks for the price of 1. If you are in for a few shots with your mates, then take on their fireball shots by getting three for the price of 2. On Wednesdays, all beers are sold at 80 baht and on Thursdays, the cocktails are priced at 180 baht. If you are a fan of cocktails, then go for their Friday Free Flow cocktails. And, if you are lady looking for free flow wine in red, white, or sparkling, then their Lady's Night would be just your thing. They also serve a good selection of bar nibbles if you are feeling a bit peckish. With the chilled lounge music and pool table, this is the perfect place to go if you would like to meet people.

Sugarland Bar and Social Club

Looking for a club with a bit of an edge? Then, check out Sugarland. With its line up of international and local DJs and booming, high-quality speakers, you will be dancing the night away in this fabulous club. Be wowed by the lighting and the club’s unique décor as well as their high-quality cocktails offered at reasonable prices. Whether you are having its mocktail or cocktail incarnation, their Mai Tai and Piñacolada aim to please.

The night begins with their live bands at 7PM, where the Live Alive Show will serenade you with their Blues and Jazz songs as the club starts picking up with its Speakeasy atmosphere. But, don’t be fooled. The club transforms into a raving location at about 11PM when the DJs start playing and the crowd starts gathering for a good dance. Experience the fireworks, sparkle, and music while meeting beautiful people at this trendy and edgy joint.

Other places to go?

Looking for something more than the usual lounges, bars, and clubs? Hua Hin has a bustling night market filled with stalls selling a variety of items, from clothes and shoes to Buddhist tokens, souvenirs, and handcrafted items. This is the best place to look for that unique item that will remind you of your stay in Thailand. If you shopping is not your thing, then have a food trip by visiting the food stalls, where you can find some cold beers and delicious, local dishes for a low price. In Hua Hin, where there is an abundance of seafood, you can have the time of your life feasting on lobsters, prawns, and crabs.  If you are lucky to come in during the weekend, the market will be a bit more glammed up with a lot of live performances, from live bands to pantomimes. Just walk up to Phetkasem Road and find the crowd.

Have an amazing night out!

Take note of the happy hours and great deals, pick up a card from your reception, and you are sure to have a great evening without the hassle of having to find your way home or that frustrating exchange with your taxi driver who can’t seem to understand the way you say the street names.
