Furama RiverFront Awarded The Singapore Green Hotel Award for the Fourth Consecutive Time

Singapore, 17 September 2015 – Furama RiverFront has once again been recognised for its commitment to the environment, receiving its fourth consecutive Singapore Green Hotel Award at the Singapore Green Hotel Award Presentation Ceremony organised by Singapore Hotel Association on 27 August 2015.

Award winners were evaluated and selected by a judging panel comprising Building and Construction Authority (BCA), National Environmental Agency (NEA), PUB, Singapore’s National Water Agency, and Singapore Tourism Board together with Singapore Hotel Association, based on specific criterion including energy and water efficiency as well as waste management.

In order to provide a greener and better environment for guests, Furama RiverFront has implemented systems and projects including paperless check-in by providing Ipads to facilitate the process and use of air-conditioning and heat recovery systems for the hotel’s hot water supply. Furthermore, escalators are equipped with motion sensors for energy saving and trash from guestrooms and outlets are segregated and recycled. The hotel also encourages guests to support the initiative by reusing their towels during their stay.

The determination and continuous trail-blazing efforts on creating a greener and better environment over the past few years has earned the hotel several significant accolades including BCA Green Mark Platinum Award and ASEAN Green Hotel Award by ASEAN Tourism Standard. The Singapore Green Hotel Award, first presented in 2009 is held every two years and this is the fourth time that it is being presented.
