Who doesn’t love to stroll around on lovely weekend markets under clear blue skies? That’s right, almost everyone does! Especially when those markets they take place on tropical islands like Bali where you can hunt for unique island gifts and souvenirs to bring home with you. Well, we’ve got good news for you! On the island of Bali, there are plenty of cool, handicrafts, vintage and hipster markets taking place during the weekends and we did the hard work of tracking them down for you. Here’s our list of weekend markets you will want to check out in Bali:
Samadi Bali Sunday Market
Every Sunday Morning, local farmers, independent designers and artists head over to Samadi to put up their market stand and just minutes later, this organic and vintage Sunday market is buzzing with liveliness. Samadi is a yoga studio and health food cafe with a really friendly, alternative atmosphere and Sunday is the best time to drop by and see this place. Fancy a traditional Indian breakfast? It is perfectly fine to show up with hungry bellies for the food at Samadi is delicious, fresh and healthy. It is totally recommended to come over for breakfast and market shopping! You will find organic fruits and coffee, handmade jewellery and natural cosmetics, beachwear, clothes, hand-painted stones, homemade Jamu (a traditional Indonesian health drink) and more. The crowd is a gorgeous mix of locals and expats, yogis, yoginis, conscious travellers and there are lots of families with kids, too. A really lovely place!

Sanur Sunday Market
This beachfront market at Mertasari Beach in Sanur takes place every last Sunday of the Month. Featuring live music, a food market and lots of market stalls selling handicrafts, souvenirs and more, this lively Sunday Market is happening all day long, from morning till sunset and it is a perfect day out for families with kids. Try all different kinds of food, let the kids run around on the beach, join in for a free yoga class while the little ones are kept busy with special kids' activities, meet local vendors and musicians, take a dive in the sea and buy some handmade goods to keep for yourself or to give away to friends and family members. Sanur Sunday Market is perfect for it! The market takes place in front of the Mercure Resort in family-oriented Sanur, easy to find!

Old Man’s Sunday Market
Old Man’s is one of the hottest places in Canggu for drinks, chilling out under the sun and late-night dancing to live bands and DJs but every last Saturday of the month, this place turns into a glorious market place to score organic body scrubs, handmade ceramic and jewellery, homeware, fashion and more awesome stuff. This market is also known as the ‘Original Canggu Market’ and it kicks off early in the morning at 8 am. You can expect laid-back beach vibes, great organic food, good live music, children activities and over 150 market stalls.

Love Anchor Bazaar
Love Anchor started out as a small and charming Sunday Market, then it turned into a lively hipster weekend market open on Saturdays and Sundays and now, due to its growing success and popularity, Love Anchor Bazaar in Canggu is open 7 days a week all-year-round. So, whenever you are around in Canggu to soak up those chill-out beach vibes, practice some yoga, learn to surf and dive into the health food scene, a visit to this cool and colourful market is obligatory! This lively bazaar has more than 100 market stalls and it is a great alternative place to find gifts of all kinds.

Pasar Pasaran
This charming indie market will make any shopaholic go wild! Vintage stuff, handmade treasures, recycled goods, music, workshops, performances, good vibes and good people. What makes this market even more special and highly sought-after is the facts that it only takes place twice a year. It is a bi-annual market festival to fall in love with! If you happen to be holidaying on Bali Island when Pasar Pasaran is on, make sure to head over there! Pasar Pasaran has got a showroom/shop in Seminyak displaying the work of their artists all year round, for those of you not around to experience this creative market festival first-hand.

Parachute Farmer’s Market

Looking for strawberries fresh from the land? Bamboo straws? Organic handmade chocolate or coffee beans from the Kintamani highlands of Bali? You can find it here! Parachute is a stunning rice field cafe/restaurant with their own organic garden on-site and on Saturday mornings, there is the Farmer’s Market, not only featuring market stalls but also live music, workshops and kids’ activities. A great place to come for breakfast and coffee, enjoy the tranquil environment and shop around for handmade goods and fresh produce.
