7 Places to Bring the Kids in Bangkok

Bangkok has a plethora of activities for kids and families. Children have countless options to have fun and be entertained. There are gaming arcades, outdoor activities, theme parks, and even water sports for kids! When in Bangkok, there’s plenty of fun and adventure for children between the ages of 2 to 15 years. Let us look at seven places to bring the kids in Bangkok so that you can have fun as a family

1. Snow Town Bangkok

Snow Town Bangkok is an indoor snow-themed village with a play area and artificial snow of 30cm - 40cm. Ideally located inside Gateway Ekkamai shopping mall, Snow Town has medium slopes for skiing and sleighing with equipment for rent. There are restaurants serving barbeque, seafood, and slushies, souvenir shops to buy, and playgrounds for children of all ages. The entry is not too expensive; tickets for adults cost approximately 100 Baht, while children enter at 80 Baht. There's an additional fee for winter gear such as socks, snowshoes, and jackets. If you want to avoid these costs, you could bring your own gear.

The fastest way to get to Gateway Ekkamai is from Ekkamai BTS station since there is direct access to the mall.

2. Dinosaur Planet Theme Park

Dinosaur Planet Bangkok is one of the major attractions for families visiting Bangkok. Loved by adults and children alike, this theme park has big life-sized dinosaurs of a forgotten era. Built in different habitats, children can see the marvels of these prehistoric beasts in all their fearsome glory! Budding paleontologists will have a field day with these extinct creatures. Dinosaur Planet has a highly educational and informative tour known for its entertainment and shock value. You can photograph your family and children against the backdrop of the enormous T-Rex and packs of Velociraptors.

Dinosaur Planet Bangkok is located along Banjasiri Park, a few minutes walking distance from Phrom Phong BTS Skytrain Station. 

3. Bangkok Funarium Indoor Playground

Funarium Indoor Playground Bangkok is the place to go if you have small children in your family. While it looks like a warehouse from outside, it is anything but on the inside. The large entertainment area is filled with climbing structures, baking stations, craft centers, and sand and water areas for children to have fun. The entire space is air conditioned so you won’t have to worry about the weather being too hot or rainy. With lots of cafes and eateries, adults can relax while children play under supervision. Adults and children older than 13 years have to pay 110 Baht for entry, while children below 13 years can enter for 200 Baht or 320 Baht depending on their height.

You can get to the Funarium by taking a taxi from Phrom Phong BTS Station. It is located on Sukhumvit 26 behind K Village shopping mall.

4. Kidzania Bangkok at Siam Paragon

Kidzania is an educational marvel that blends fun and learning seamlessly. Popularly known as the ‘edutainment’ highlight of Bangkok, Kidzania is a learning experience for all kids aged 4 to 15 years. At Kidzania, kids can experience what it is like to be a grown-up! They can choose from amongst different jobs – firefighter, lawyer, dentist, surgeon, pilot, and so on. Kids can ride supervised fire trucks and try to put out a hotel fire with real water to make them experience what a job is actually like. They can be news anchors and deliver news in a newsroom! Everything here is on a smaller scale to make it as enjoyable and lifelike as possible for kids.

Located at the top floor of the Siam Paragon, at Kidzania, kids can have fun, learn real-life skills, and still have fun. The fastest way to get there is via BTS to Siam station. Adults have to pay an entry fee of 425 Baht, kids aged 4 – 15 years 850 Baht, and toddlers aged 2 – 3 years 425 Baht.

5. Flight Simulator

Flight Experience Bangkok is known to bring out the best in starry-eyed kids who want to grow up to be pilots. Young children who dream of becoming pilots and captains and air force personnel to get their flight wings have incredible experiences here. The background is very realistic, and the flight simulator at Flight Experience Bangkok has also been included in movies and TV shows. While relatively expensively-priced at 4550 Baht for 30 minutes and 6900 Baht for 60 minutes, this flight simulator is still cheaper than the ones found in Europe and Australia. Give your kids the experience of a lifetime with the new simulation.

Located on the second floor at Gateway Ekkamai Mall, the easiest way to get here is the BTS to Ekkamai Station.

6. Zanook Wake Park

Zanook Wake Park is Bangkok’s most famous wakeboarding park; with excellent facilities, equipment, instructors, and staff. There is also an inflatable, floating park in the center of the lake that promises an enjoyable time. If your kids are wakeboarding for the first time, you can get them an instructor to explain the basics to get them started on their wakeboarding journey. There is a cable pulley that runs around the park for ease of movement. There are also jumps, grinders, and kickers for experienced wakeboarders. Indulge in this exciting activity as a family to make memories that will last a lifetime.

Get to Zanook Wake Park from Bang Wa Station on the Silom line in central Bangkok.

7. Fantasia Lagoon Water Park

Fantasia Lagoon Water Park is a fantastic experience for children of all ages. Fantasia has waterslides, water playground areas like Mystery Island, Magic Jungle, and Pirate Cove and Slider Tower, and lazy river rides. Hygienic and supervised, adults and children can unwind and have fun together. If you want to spend some quality family time with your kids while on vacation, then Fantasia Lagoon Water Park should be your destination. Entry is 200 Baht for adults and 120 Baht for kids. Do note that you may have to pay extra for swimming caps, lockers, the river ride fare, and towels.
