The Istana

The Istana is the official residence of the President of Singapore.

It is a precious and important part of Singapore’s history and heritage, and has borne witness to Singapore’s many historical milestones.

Catch the Changing of Guards Ceremony held on every first Sunday evening of the month, approximately at 5.45pm. The Ceremony was held in 1969 and has continued ever since. However, the ceremony will not be held in the months of July and August.

The Istana grounds is open to the public in celebration of Chinese New Year; Deepavali; Hari Raya Puasa; Labour Day; and National Day.
