To mark the celebration of Deepavali, Little India is transformed into a fairyland with colourful lights and elaborate street decorations.
Deepavali is know as the Festival of Lights, a time for rejoicing and renewal as Hindus celebrate the triumph of good over evil. During this time, many homes will light up oil lamps to usher in light and good fortune.
Head over to the Â Deepavali Festival Village @ Campbell Lane for stalls offering colourful festive items, Indian ethnic wear, intricate jewellery, costumes, arts & Crafts, traditional tidbits.
Learn about the origins and traditions of Deepavali at the Heritage & Craft Exhibition, where skilled craftsmen will demonstrate pottery and garland tying, along with an exhibition of sculptures and statues.
Usher in the Festival of Lights at the Countdown Concert on 12 Nov 2012 @ 9pm, at the Farrer Park Field. There will be a display fo fireworks on the stroke of midnight!
